Family: As a family-run business, we are delighted to welcome even the youngest guests! The beach, which begins right in front of our house, is ideal for families. A wide range of water sports equipment rentals and lessons are available opposite our house on the beach, and there are numerous children’s playgrounds in and around Laboe. A table tennis table is available in our fitness and sauna area. Families can request free baby cots in their rooms and high chairs in the restaurant. An extra bed for children costs €20 per night, including breakfast.

Marine Biology Station: This private station in the nearby nature reserve offers visitors a profound insight into the underwater world of the Baltic Sea. During the season, visitors can also regularly discover the unique features of this nature reserve on expert-led tours. The special characteristic is the formation and constant transformation of the landscape through the undisturbed action of wind and waves: 40 years ago, this area was nothing but water, except for a narrow strip of beach in front of a cliff edge. Within just a few decades, a dune landscape developed, which was used as a campsite from the early 1980s until 1991. The station also operates a research launch in Laboe harbor, offering excursions for all ages.

Naval Memorial: The adjacent Naval Memorial in Laboe was built between 1927 and 1936, rededicated as a memorial in 1996, and today commemorates sailors of all nations lost at sea and urges peaceful navigation on the open ocean. The park invites children to romp and play, families can test their skills at mini-golf, and the large meadow is perfect for a game of Viking chess (available for rent at the mini-golf course).

Restaurant: Take a seat in our restaurant or on the terrace and enjoy the view of the fjord while you dine! Our chefs prepare regional cuisine and fresh fish dishes, as well as a seasonal selection of dishes. For coffee or tea, you’ll find a wide variety of homemade cakes and pastries. Our restaurant is open continuously – no closing day. The kitchen is open from 11:30 am to 2 pm and from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.

Safe: If required, we can store smaller valuables in our hotel safe in the reception area; please let us know in advance

Sauna: See fitness and sauna areas.

Seagulls: Please do not feed the seagulls under any circumstances! The animals quickly become accustomed to unsuitable food, suffer from malnutrition, and lose their natural inhibitions. In Laboe, it is not uncommon for seagulls to steal fries, make off with fish sandwiches, or search for food in trash cans, posing a particular danger to children.

Sewing supplies: A set of sewing supplies can be found in your room; should you require further sewing supplies or a sewing service, please contact reception!

Shipping traffic: Observe international shipping traffic right outside your window! Apps like „VesselFinder“ allow you to view details about all ships for free on your smartphone or tablet.

Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in all our rooms and in the restaurant. You may enjoy your cigarette on the balconies of some rooms. A cigarette vending machine is located near the main entrance

Submarine U 995: The directly adjacent Technical Museum U 995 is a German submarine of the former Kriegsmarine, which was used in the Second World War and has been moored as a museum ship at the foot of the Naval Memorial since 1972. It is open daily

Swimming pool: The swimming pool is unfortunately closed until further notice. You can find swimming facilities in Preetz, Kiel, or Weißenhäuser Strand.
